The Art Gallery of New South Wales

Image
The Art Gallery of New South Wales is the premium art location within Sydney, boasting a collection that spans centuries of art sourced from a multitude of artists and countries, across numerous forms. Its collection also contains an immense display of Australian artwork. Despite the gallery’s worth being estimated at approximately AU$1 billion, entry to the gallery is free, with most of the collection being substantiated by government funding and private donations, many of which range into the tens of millions of dollars, however, some major temporary exhibits do require paid tickets. The museum regularly runs tours of the gallery, as well as its specific collections. These are free of charge and often run by volunteers who maintain a passion in their respective subjects. The art gallery is open from 10am-5pm Thursday through Tuesday, whilst the gallery is open from 10am-10pm on Wednesday for Art After Hours. The gallery is also located on the border of the Royal Botanic

Cape Solander

It’s no secret that Sydney’s one of the best places on Earth to live in. Not to sound like a geography lesson but Sydney is one of the only places on Earth that – within an hour’s range – has Beaches, Waterfalls, Rainforests, Caves and Rock formations. One such amazing place that is a must see is Cape Solander.  Cape Solander is a mere 39kms and around 47-minute drive from Sydney’s CBD! Now if you’re lazy like me and enjoy amazing views without having to do a whole trek, hike and rock climb – Cape Solander is the place for you! It’s one of the most easily accessible places I’ve been to. All you have to do is drive up there, park your car and enjoy the view! Or, if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, you can take a little walk among the rocks and see the water crash against the rocks! Make sure to take you’re camera – trust me you won’t want to miss it! - Prem Pradeep 43801749

Titanic The Exhibition - Moore Park

Image
While you're waiting for Vivid Sydney to start, I've found somewhere for you to visit. You must have watched the Titanic movie at least once right? Have you ever wondered what it's like to live dat posh lyf in the early 20th century? Then this is the event for ya! Visitors will receive a boarding pass containing the details of an actual passenger,  come face to face with an actual iceberg,  experience spectacular recreations, including the grand staircase,  experience over 300 artefacts dating back over 100 years and memorabilia from the blockbuster film.  The exhibition culminates in the Memorial Gallery, where visitors learn their chosen passenger’s fate on the cold early morning of April 15, 1912. (From:  http://www.sydney.com/destinations/sydney/sydney-east/moore-park/events/titanic-the-exhibition ) The exhibition is still on right now and ends on Friday 30 June, so you still have time to decide if you wanna visit! Flowerchild Cafe

Image
Flower Child Cafe A cafe that I have only recently visited with my partner and have fallen in love with not only their food but the whole vibe of the place as well. Flowerchild cafe is located within Chatswood Westfield Shopping Centre and is designed like a beautiful plant/flower botanical house. When you enter , youll see flower pots everywhere filled with beautiful flowers hanging down from the ceiling with vines and petals everywhere. Dont get me wrong this isnt a jungle of course! Although the one issue I have is that that tables are very congested and tiny and theres not much room to move around, so you tend to bump into things a lot. Also, the wait time can be annoying for customer as you need to prebook beforehand to get a seat and if you dont then the minimum wait would be 20 minutes up to 40 minutes which is not ideal. Yet , in terms of the food , my favourite would definitely have to be their famous Vegan Bowl! Its filled with delicious roasted pumpkin, sweet potato alon

Barrenjoey Lighthouse

Image
Barrenjoey Lighthouse Imagine yourself standing on the top of a hill. As you turn a full 360 degrees you see a cliff cascade into the ocean which reaches the endless horizon before it curves into the Australian eastern coast where it seeps in, forming bays, beaches and Australia’s most iconic beach; Palm Beach. This is probably my favourite thing about the lighthouse lookout...being able to see so much of the Australian coastline from one spot. This is what is on offer when you venture up Barrenjoey Head and find the wonders of Sydney’s most northern point. It will take you a 30 minute uphill walk to reach, with choice between a track that gradually ascends or one with stairs. Once you reach the top have a look at the 1881 sandstone lighthouse. There are tours on offer if you are there on a Sunday. Then spare a good amount of time to explore and view all that this lookout has to offer….you may even sight a whale if you are there between May and September!  So the best

Cafes Els : For this weeks post , I will be talking about my all time favourite cafe! This is my go to place that I always take my boyfriend, family and friend to and can trust that every single time the food will be amazing! Cafe Els is located at Winston Hills Shopping Centre and the best part is they allow you to bring in pets i.e dogs inside which makes it such a friendly environment! The wait time is excellent as food gets served within 5 minutes. I love photography a lot and especially putting up beautiful pictures of food on my social media platforms . Cafe Els food presentation is absolutely stunning and unique, perfect for all those instagram photographers of course! I strongly recommend everyone to go have breakfast at this place which is between 9am to 12pm as their eggs with sourdough bread and halloumi cheese is mouth watering! Hermitage Foreshore Track

Image
Glistening aqua water, ancient intertwined trees, distant glimpses of the city of Sydney and nearby sights of sails and yachts… These are secrets common to one of Sydney’s best coastal walks; the Hermitage Foreshore Track. Carving along the coast, the track begins in Rose Bay and follows the harbour until it arrives at Shark Bay. It is an easy walk, taking about 30 mins - 1 hour with slight hills, a few stairs and a formed path. Catch a ferry to Rose Bay or park nearby and begin your walk at the end of Bayveiw Hill Road or Neilson Park. Enjoy the private bays, beaches, city sights and greenary along the way. Once you arrive have a swim in the shark net, explore the surrounding park and enjoy the menu at Neilson Park Cafe.  #wildwednesday #yourguidetosydney https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/things-to-do/walking-tracks/hermitage-foreshore-track - Hannah Neirinckx 43283004
